Star of Hope Charity Set to Raise Thousands

A Gran stuck three times in three years by cancer has organised a massive fundraiser at Colchester United Stadium and inspired Framewerks to help out.

Wendy Ofuasia from Colchester hopes a Manchester United football signed by outgoing manager Sir Alex Ferguson will help to raise £20,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support at the Star of Hope charity night.

“We were delighted to help Wendy” said Jenny Johnson of Framewerks.

Sports memorabilia framed by Framewerks will be auctioned along with various other items on September the 14th.

Framing Frank

Frank and the mob
As a picture framer, when an icon walks into the workshop (or more realistically is brought in rolled up in a tube with a glow of brilliance and expectation shining from within the packaging) your heart soars and your creative juices start flowing.

Colchester District Business Awards 2012

Framewerks are delighted to have been chosen as a finalist in the Business to Business category at the Colchester District Business Awards 2012.

David Fricker says that the recognition is testament to the hard work of the Framewerks team and their dedication to continually offer an outstanding service to the wide ranging clients Framewerks have the pleasure to work with.

The black tie presentation dinner will be held on Friday the 23rd November at Charter Hall. Fingers crossed!
Dave gets suited and booted for our frame of the month!
Frame of the month has been awarded to this stunning wedding dress. Our customer wanted to see her dress, not put it away in a box under her bed! She said “What an amazing result, you were the only company in Essex who would frame it for me in the style I wanted, in my price range and in my timescale”.

We quickly went to work and agreed with the client that the dark background showed the dress off beautifully and opted for a stunning silver/ gold decorative frame.
Jenny our Workshop Manager has a great eye for detail and achieved the look for the dress by careful pinning and placing it, as though it were on a mannequin.

Framewerks got inspired and made a difference

We were delighted to help one of our customer’s Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP recently to raise money for the Colchester Breast Cancer Unit Charity. A framed West Ham football shirt reached over £300 when auctioned at a lunch held at Le Talbooth last month.

Glenn Carter, Business Development Manager at Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP said “We were absolutely delighted with the quality of the framing; it’s amazing how the item itself, the shirt, was transformed into a very desirable and collectable piece”
A sum in excess of £5000 has so far been raised for the charity.

Samantha Fricker of Framewerks explained “We are thrilled that the shirt, once framed, raised a great amount for the Colchester Breast Cancer Unit and will help continue to raise awareness for the charity”
Framewerks helps to fly the flag for Headway Essex

A pin flag signed by Colin Montgomerie from last year’s Gold Ryder Cup raised well over £500 thanks to local business Framewerks Picture framing. The flag, kindly donated by Fiducia Wealth Management needed to be presented in such a way to encourage high bids at the annual Colchester Colne Round Table fundraiser.

“It was a pleasure to support such an important local charity as Headway Essex” said Samantha Fricker of Framewerks.

Gordon Kearney of Fiducia was delighted with the framing and said “On behalf of Colchester Colne Round Table and Headway Essex we like to thank the team at Framewerks for kindly taking the time and effort to frame our Ryder Cup pin flag, without their support we wouldn’t have been able to raise such a fantastic amount”.
Framewerks has framed a number of items for charity including Dame Shirley Bassey’s shoes and a pair of Ronaldo’s football boots. “We pride ourselves on the unusual items we can frame to perfection as we ‘don’t just frame pictures’ and to know that our work has raised well needed funds is a bonus” explained Samantha.

Can you help us to find the owner?

With Remembrance Day firmly on our minds we thought we would take the opportunity to see if we can find the rightful owner of some medals which were brought in to be framed and never collected.
These beautifully framed medals; photograph and box have adorned the walls at Framewerks for too long in the hope the owner would see them. Do you know who they belong to? If so please contact us
Framewerks Preserves Memories

I attended a fantastic event hosted by the Business Womans Network on Monday and after listening to Mark Rhodes (a truly inspirational speaker) got chatting to a number of people about the qualities that make businesses exceptional.

One lady commented that Framewerks “preserves memories”. Now this got me thinking. I know that we don’t ‘just’ frame pictures but do we preserve memories?
